General Manager – The Addison Farm

 

The General Manager is responsible for the strategic oversight of venue sales and operations.  This position serves as the primary point of contact and is the responsible party for all internal and external bookings of The Addison Farm. S/he will manage lead generation and response,  sales, and booking of the property.  The General Manager will be responsible for maximizing profits and minimizing loss. In addition, this person serves as the point of contact for all functions/events. S/he will develop policies and procedures and create efficiencies within operations. The ideal candidate must have outstanding customer service and leadership skills, be very detail-oriented, and be a team player excited to join this family-owned business. S/he should strive to create a positive work environment with fellow staff members and to provide excellent customer service. The property is located in Elon, NC.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

 

General Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage lead generation/sales/booking process and venue marketing:
    • Respond to email and phone communication with clients, potential clients, and vendors in a timely, efficient, and professional manner
    • Track and analyze trends in the sales process from inquiry to contract execution
    • Create strategies for lead generation, marketing plans, and media campaigns

 

  • Responsible for planning phase, general event coordination, and client management
    • Create diagrams, review event details, and answer questions/communicate with clients and vendors in a timely and effective manner
    • Keep accurate and detailed records for each event including contract agreements, payments/invoicing, COI, rental items, and schedule of events
    • Manage emails and phone communication with clients/vendors and facilitate in-person meetings as needed

 

  • On-site execution of events
    • Schedule and manage staff and coordination of deliveries and client/vendor arrivals and departures
    • Assist with the physical set-up of event facilities as needed (lifting, moving, and arranging of tables, chairs, furniture, etc.)
    • Responsible for providing exceptional service to all guests in a professional, friendly, and efficient manner

 

  • Facility management:
    • Work collaboratively to establish clear and effective policies and procedures for renters/users and staff of The Addison Farm
    • Maintain and organize par levels for all products, including but not limited to restroom supplies, kitchen supplies, and cleaning products
    • Ensure venue cleanliness at all times
    • Serve as a fire/emergency safety monitor
    • Responsible for communicating information concerning facility maintenance, building construction, and building repairs to Sasser Companies, Inc.

 

  • Team Management:
    • Hire and supervise staff including, but not limited to, the sales team, custodial staff, porters, and other operations personnel
    • Effectively train staff members with consistent positive results
    • Create schedules to serve business needs within budget perimeters
    • Maintain up-to-date attendance records for staff
    • Monitor and maintain employee time records
    • Assist in the daily operations in an efficient, cost effective, and labor effective manner
    • Conduct fair performance evaluations of subordinates
    • Work closely with other departments to ensure venue growth and outstanding customer service to all clients and vendors

 

  • General Management:
  • Maintain thorough and extensive knowledge of the Addison Farm business and the wedding market, by staying current on industry news, reviewing client event details, and proactively anticipating needs
  • Responsible for maintaining a high energy, positive attitude and professional appearance. You are expected and encouraged to be a brand ambassador for The Addison Farm, even when not at work.  You are expected to represent the values of The Addison Farm, and assist in building new vendor and client relationships
  • Assist with social media and marketing efforts as needed and maintain The Addison Farm social media accounts
  • Assist with promotional events such as open houses, editorial photo shoots, and milestone events

 

 

Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • 4 year college degree preferred
  • A minimum of 2-3 years leadership/management experience
  • 2+ years customer service experience
